  1. New motherboard and case. Same ssd and windows copy. Authentication problem

Updated motherboard and case as old system too old for win 11. I am using same SSD with same copy of windows that was authenticated. Now windows 10 sees I have a new system so try to authenticate but I am unable to remember my system password as been using the pin for years. Can log into Microsoft using my old ntlworld email but then asks for the system 1 so even unable to change system login to Microsoft account. Some help and or assistance would be much apricated.

    :)

Activating Windows 10 with a digital license from a new SSD and new motherboard

    Hi,

I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10 and my windows settings say I have a digital license. I recently bought a new motherboard and new SSD. I cloned the OS from my old SSD to my new SSD and my PC can boot and I can log in, however it tells me that I need
to activate windows. I was under the assumption that the digital license I had would follow my account, so when I would log in it would activate windows but this doesn't seem to be the case.

Do I need to deactivate the digital license on the previous motherboard/SSD first before I can reactivate on my new hardware? That is the only other explanation I could think of as to why this isn't working, but I don't want to deactivate my digital license
on my old hardware only to have this issue persist on my current new hardware. Could I get confirmation? And if so, can I also get steps on how to properly dissociate my digital license from the old hardware before I can use it for my new hardware?

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

  3. two step authentication

I have exactly the same problem - recently activated two step authentication and now the Marketplace will not sign in when trying to perform updates. It also appears to affect my XBox Live sign in too. These appear to be the only apps so far to have this
    problem on my phone.

The steps above (i.e. obtaining an app password from Sign in to your Microsoft account) worked fine for my Outlook email account and for my Live account in the settings page under Email+Accounts, however the Marketplace app still asks for authentication
(with what looks like my old password cached, judging by the length). I enter a fresh generated app password but it is not accepted. The error is a standard,

"There is a problem with your Live ID. Try again or sign in with a different Windows Live ID."

In case there was a problem with the copy/paste mechanism I tried,

    • On the phone IE using the 'Copy password' button
    • On the phone IE Selecting the password text on the page and copying
    • On my Desktop computer, entering it in manually

    None of which worked.

    I have Windows Phone 7.8 on a Lumia 800.

Transfer ssd with windows 10 to a new motherboard

    Hello,

I just bought a new mother board and want to transfer my ssd with windows10 to that motherboard. I have the full retail copy that I purchased and was wondering if I can just plug and play my ssd. I have read in other ares that sometimes we need to remove
    the license before transferring.

    Thanks
