New motherboard, same harddrive, retail upgraded 7 to 10 license; install?

So I have a new motherboard and also the same hard drive for the previous machine, putting it in the new one. I also have a retail license that was upgraded from 7 to 10, and have seen that it is transferable. I have made a Windows 10 install on a USB flash drive, and am now trying to figure out how to get Windows to install without wiping my drive. Does an upgraded digital license have a key that can be put into the install screen? Can Windows be read off of the existing drive before install? Or is wiping the drive and installing over it the only way to get past the installation process? I am

    :)

  2. Windows 7 to Windows 10 Upgrade after buying new motherboard de-activated windows

It depends on how Windows 10 was originally configured on your computer.

If its a full retail store bought license online or offline, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

If its the free upgrade from a retail store bought Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

If its the free upgrade from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is NOT transferable to a new computer or motherboard.
