Windows 10: New motherboard.

I installed a new motherboard and Activation failed with can't reach MS Servers.

After a clean install today using the trouble shooter and it Activated

:)

my MB died so i get a new one

then windows told that my serial no. can not be used with this version of windows (10 creation)

if this is true then how is it fair to the customers?

You may have another problem depending on how you acquired Windows 10. If it a full retail copy of Windows 10 then the license can be transferred, if it is an upgrade from an OEM version of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 Or you purchased an OEM License of Windows
10, then it is non-transferrable and you will have to purchase a new License of Windows. This is because changing the motherboard makes this a new computer in the eyes of Microsoft. The only way around this is to buy the exact same motherboard from your computer
Manufacturer.

Well I do believe that there was a suggestion you could move digital entitlement with the new MS utility if it was linked to your MS account.

Guess it works then which is good to know.

I don't know who Dona is but if she is paying off overdrafts I'm all ears...
