Windows 10: New Notepad - Unstable at best

I just used the "new" Notepad for the first time. It is terrible.I use Notepad for making basic batch files mostly where I edit plain text and then cut into a SQL database as a series of commands. A process that used to take less than 2 minutes with good old Notepad. With the new Notepad, find and replace all results in a corrupt file, which after some trial and error I discovered if you save, close and reopen is usually back to how it should be. When I often run 5 or 6 find and replace commands, having to run one, save, close, reopen and then check the file after each is crazy.This new Notepa

Notepad on Windows 7\

Suggestion would be uninstall then new install on Win7. Maybe an older version would work better? A list, maybe Version 7?

• Open Task Manager. Here’s a tip: press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
• Click on Startup tab.
• Select Notepad from the list and click on Disable.

I followed your suggestion but wasn't able to find Notepad listed on the startup. There are some listed as program but don't know which ones it could be.
