Xbox Game Pass Titles for August 2017

Hello fellow gamers. Welcome to your August Xbox Game Pass update! Xbox Game Pass offers you unlimited access to over 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 backward compatible games for just $9.99 USD per month.

More is better is our mantra, and there should always be something new to play with Xbox Game Pass. So, in addition to the 100+ great games already included in your membership, we are bringing seven more games to the Xbox Game Pass catalog on August 1. And don’t forget, if you haven’t tried Xbox Game Pass yet, you can play free for 14 days.

DiRT Rally

Leading the way in August is Codemasters’ off-road racing gem, DiRT Rally. If you’re a fan of racing, rally racing, or just plain getting dirty in an automobile, stop what you’re doing and start downloading this game on August 1. With nearly 20 different cars from the 1960s through modern day, 36 stages, and everything from mud to ice and sand, there are plenty of ways to get your turns in. Push for the winner’s circle in Rallycross or take down friends and online foes in one of several multiplayer modes. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but it’s made much easier with over 20 tutorials and your co-driver’s ongoing instructions throughout each race. Be brave and race on!

Dead Rising 3

When it comes to zombies, more is better and more zombies you will get with Dead Rising 3 making its way to Xbox Game Pass! Play as Nick Ramos and explore a wide-open world of obsessive-compulsive, flesh-eating undead. Craft crazy weapons on the fly and create new, innovative ways to rally your zombie kill counter into the tens of thousands. Take on the apocalypse solo, or team up with a friend to conquer Los Perdidos and unlock each alternative ending. If you’ve already played through Dead Rising 3, see if you can do it again this Summer in Nightmare Mode!

Limbo

An award-winning story not to be missed this summer, Playdead’s Limbo is an epic 2D puzzle-platforming adventure sure to keep you engaged from beginning to end. You assume the role of a nameless young boy who awakens in the middle of a deep, dark forest, and must set off on a journey to find his lost sister. Navigate your way through this black & white artistic masterpiece, solving puzzles and avoiding various dangers as you try to find a way out of the forest and into the light.

Ultratron

Also coming to Xbox Game Pass this month is the exciting indie platform shooter, Ultratron. Use the right stick to aim, shoot, and destroy wave after wave of ill-tempered robots. Death is unforgiving in Ultratron, sending you back to square one without mercy. With a deep RPG progression system, you can strategically use the cash you collect to replenish your health, build up your powers, and become an unstoppable force of robo-destruction. See if you can shoot your way past Level 10 in your first half hour of play. Just keep an eye on the clock – Ultratron will suck you in before you know it!

So Many Me

Meet Filo. He’s cute, he’s cuddly, and he’s about to clone himself again in So Many Me, a super unique and engaging platform coming in August from our friends at Origi Games. Every level in So Many Me tasks you with solving three complex puzzles, which is a mission made easier as you acquire new and different power-ups. As you progress, the puzzles only get more challenging, making each solution that much sweeter to discover. Throw in a fun and witty storyline and you have another hidden gem just waiting to be found in Xbox Game Pass in August.

Metal Slug XX

The action-packed Arcade classic Metal Slug is back with Metal Slug XX. Breeze through the chaos and excitement of all seven levels on easy, or gear up for a challenge and try to beat the game on Hard mode. Go solo or team with a friend for an old school couch co-op adventure. If you’ve played Metal Slug 3 in Xbox Game Pass, you won’t want to miss Metal Slug XX. And if you haven’t played Metal Slug 3, what are you waiting for?! Get shootin’!

Pharaonic

Sprint, dodge, and fight your way through ancient Egypt in Pharaonic, a single-player 2D sidescrolling action RPG. Engage allies, battle enemies, and avoid the many traps and pitfalls on your quest to find the Red Pharaoh. Enjoy the terrific environments and level design, but stay on the ready, as you never know what Pharaonic has for waiting for you around the next turn. Don’t miss this one in August!

Xbox Game Pass: April 2018 New Games

Hello, fellow gamers! Welcome to your action-packed April Xbox Game Pass update. With this month’s release, we’ve got an exciting new addition to Xbox One that all Xbox Game Pass members can enjoy alongside our standard monthly title releases. Here’s a hint: it’s time to #BuildDriveFight.

On April 11, Robocraft Infinity, the highly-anticipated multiplayer robot building and battling action game from Freejam Games, will be making its debut on Xbox One and we’re thrilled to make it available to all Xbox Game Pass members on the same day – marking it as the first game to come through the ID@Xbox program and join Xbox Game Pass the same day it debuts on Xbox One. Join us April 11 on Mixer and watch our favorite streamers get hands-on with Robocraft Infinity.

This April, Xbox Game Pass members can also look forward to playing Cities: Skylines, theHunter: Call of the Wild, Kingdom: New Lands, Portal Knights, ClusterTruck, Sacred Citadel, and Late Shift, in addition to over 100 more great games included as part of your membership. Read on to learn more about these unique titles coming to Xbox Game Pass soon:

Robocraft Infinity
In Robocraft Infinity you are free to create, confront and destroy robots in Battle Arena or Team Deathmatch mode. Beat up on AI to polish your skills and then take on other players, leveraging a healthy mix of jet cars, tanks, flying warships, helicopters, drones, dinosaurs, scorpions to find victory – your options to build are virtually endless and no two battles are ever the same. But your robot alone won’t lead you to victory – it takes close-knit team play and quick reflexes to succeed in the arena.

With over 250 build components at launch and more set to be added for free in the future, Robocraft Infinity will continue to evolve right alongside your skills and tales from battle. What’s more, Robocraft Infinity is Xbox One X Enhanced, with superior 60fps framerate and stunning 4K visuals. We can’t wait for you to enjoy Robocraft Infinity on April 11. Here’s a few words from developer Freejam Games on bringing Robocraft Infinity to Xbox Game Pass:

“When Microsoft approached us to put Robocraft Infinity into Xbox Game Pass and thus open it up to entirely new audiences on Xbox at launch that may otherwise not experience the game, we jumped at the opportunity” explained producer Luis Dellinger of Freejam Games– an independent game developer, founded in February 2013.

“We’ve designed Infinity from the ground-up to be the best Robocraft experience available on any platform,” adds producer, Luis Dellinger. Robocraft released as a public alpha in 2013, at the time functioning little more than a tech demo – fast-forward to today, and Robocraft has over 13 million registered players worldwide on PC.

Cities: Skylines
Cities: Skylines – Xbox One Edition, is an incredible simulation experience which puts you in charge of a growing city – from breaking ground on your first buildings and streets to efficiently managing the ever-changing needs of thousands of citizens. Design, build, and grow the city of your dreams, delivering important public services, establishing strategic civic policies, and challenging yourself to grow from a simple town to a bustling metropolitan hub. The Xbox One Edition includes the full original game and the popular After Dark expansion, allowing players to plan and design for their cities’ nightlife and tourist attractions. Cities fans can now also create custom mods, and share them with the wider Cities community free as part of the latest update released February 20!

theHunter: Call of the Wild
The ultimate hunting experience awaits in theHunter: Call of the Wild. This 50-square mile open world is home to a range of wildlife, from large majestic deer and fierce black bears, down to countless birds and critters. Dynamic weather, a full day- and night cycle and an immersive soundscape add to the experience, which is available in single player, or in multiplayer for up to 8 hunters. All of this is made possible by Apex – award-winning technology developed by Avalanche Studios, who have well over a decade of experience developing explosive action games. theHunter: Call of the Wild is fully enhanced for Xbox One X with a range of impressive visual upgrades. The hunting experience is also ever-evolving, with a host of great free and paid DLC coming down the pipe, including the Siberian tundra in the massive Medved-Taiga National Park PDLC.

Kingdom: New Lands
Are you looking for an excuse to get lost in an immersive world and sink way too many hours into an incredible strategy game? We thought so and we’re excited to announce that our friends at Raw Fury are bringing Kingdom: New Lands to Xbox Game Pass so you can do just that. Taking on the role of a monarch, your job is to build your kingdom from the ground up. Explore the land, recruit loyal subjects, and advance your economy and defenses. But make haste, for when nightfall comes, a dark and greedy presence awaits; if they get your crown, it’s all over!

Portal Knights
We’re very excited to announce the award-winning adventure game Portal Knights is also joining Xbox Game Pass on April 1. ClusterTruck
You’ve played platformers before, but not all platformers are created equal. Jump and dodge obstacles through a series of insane levels where “the floor is lava.” The further you progress, the harder the obstacles and dangers become, with swinging hammers, powerful lasers and flamethrowers added. Sacred Citadel
In Sacred Citadel, a side-scrolling action brawler from developer Southend Interactive, the once peaceful land of Ancaria is in grave danger and only you can save it. The evil Ashen empire has enslaved its population and is using the orc-like Grimmoc to wipe out the Seraphim, who swore to protect the realm. To defeat the empire, you must become the warrior Ancaria requires by riding terrifying mounts, acquiring earth shattering skills, looting powerful weapons and gathering valuable treasures. Late Shift
Late Shift is an incredibly unique and engaging crime thriller from our friends at Wales Interactive. This cinematic live-action game is crafted by Michael R Johnson, who scripted the 2009 film “Sherlock Holmes” and features branching storylines with hidden chapters and over 180 critical decisions for you make. Your choices will have consequences from the very start, right through to the very end. One small decision could change the entire outcome in a choose-your-own-adventure style gameplay that can lead to one of seven conclusions.

Xbox Game Pass expands to include new releases from Microsoft Studios

When we launched Xbox Game Pass in June 2017, we knew we wanted to craft a service with gamers in mind. That meant a diverse, expanding library of over 100 games and counting, matched with one monthly price and unlimited access to download and play full-fidelity experiences.

We’ve been blown away by the incredible response. Following launch, we heard from fans around the world who wanted Xbox Game Pass in their country. In September, we expanded globally and Xbox Game Pass is now available to fans in 40 countries. We’ve also continued to expand the catalog with new games added to the Xbox Game Pass library every month, so there is always something new to play.

We know our fans value having a variety of games to play at a low monthly price. We’ve also heard from fans that the ability to play new blockbuster games in Xbox Game Pass is important. So we’ve continued to explore new ideas to make this possible.

Today, we’re excited to announce plans for a major expansion to Xbox Game Pass that underscores our commitment to deliver our fans the ultimate gaming subscription service.

Moving forward, we plan to release all new Xbox One exclusive games from Microsoft Studios into Xbox Game Pass on the same date as their global release. This means that when Sea of Thieves launches on March 20, it will be included in Xbox Game Pass to all members.

This plan to bring new games timed with their global release into Xbox Game Pass not only includes announced titles like Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3 but future unannounced games from Microsoft Studios including new iterations of our biggest Xbox One exclusive franchises such as Halo, Forza and Gears of War, on the same day they launch.

Our fans have also asked for more choice in the subscription offerings available for Xbox Game Pass. As part of today’s library expansion, we are also pleased to announce that we are working closely with our retail partners, such as GameStop, to offer a 6-month Xbox Game Pass subscription card for those fans who look for a variety of ways to purchase and enjoy new games and services. The 6-month Xbox Game Pass subscription card will be available at select retail partners for $59.99 beginning March 20. By working closely with retail partners, Xbox Game Pass will have valuable ambassadors in popular destinations for gamers to discover new and exciting games and enjoy community.

With the addition of more great games, new blockbuster releases and a new subscription offer, we are giving fans more choice and value in how they discover and enjoy games – purchase games for their permanent library or play through Xbox Game Pass for one low price.

We’ve only scratched the surface of the opportunity this new model brings to the industry and what we can deliver to our fans. We firmly believe Xbox Game Pass will be a catalyst to create new opportunities for game developers and publishers to innovate in the way games are developed and delivered, leading to entirely new ways to play.
