Windows 10: New PC Build - Installing Win11 - Stuck at No Wifi Connection screen

Hi, I have just finished a new PC build. Created a new boot usb drive with win 11. Booted to that location and started the win 11 o/s install, typed in my purchase key# and got to the select language and key board style then it goes to a screen saying no wi-fi connection. I cant turn the wifi setting on as there is no o/s on the pc yet. Any ideas how I can finish this install. I tried also using a network cable directly from the wifi router and i see a flashing light and a solid amber. Still not working. GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS XTREME LGA 1700 Intel Z790 EATX Motherboard with DDR5, M.2, PCIe 5.

Installing Windows 11 on New PC Build

Hello - I am running into an issue while trying to install Windows 11 on my new PC build.

I am able to get to the step where Windows wants to connect to a network in order to continue with the installation. However, I am not identifying any networks whatsoever. I have tried WiFi as well as having the PC plugged directly into the router via an ethernet cable. However, I continue to get stuck on this screen (screen shot below).

PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval

• Install system in case
  • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
• Turn on PC
• setup HDD
• run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
  • run realtemp at the same time

• While in Prime95 test
  • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
  • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
  • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!

What do you guys think??

 

Creators Build WiFi connection

Hi,

Since you've installed the Windows 10 Creators update, you should also update the WiFi adapter to resolve the issue. You may check for the latest driver of your WiFi adapter through Device Manager. To do so, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X, then select Device Manager.
  
• Under Device Manager, double-click Network adapters.
  
• Right-click on your wireless adapter, then click Properties.
  
• Under Properties, click Driver tab.
• Click Uninstall.
• Once you're done, click OK.
• Left-click on the wireless adapter to highlight it.
• Click Scan for hardware changes to search for the most updated driver for the device.

I did that but no new driver was offered. I then went to the Intel site but it also didn't offer a new driver for their Centrino N-2230 WiFi card. This was a clean install of Creators Update so all the latest drivers should be installed.

But as I said, this seems to be an issue with Win 10 Creators Update's "automatically connect" feature,
not with the WiFi driver. As soon as I manually connect to my network, everything works ok. It should be connecting to the network automatically as soon as Win 10 finishes loading.

Windows is acting as though "automatically connect" is not checked for my network, even though there's a checkmark in that box when I open the list of available WiFi networks.
