Windows 10: New PC HD drive 1TB not appearing, windows problem or am I doing some thing wrong?

Note: News WD PC drive is mechanical old style HDD not SSD flash.Hi, I wanted to clone the present hard drive of laptop and purchased Western Digital Blue PC hard drive 1TB when I connected it via USB adapter it does not appear in PC where all drive appears. Though in the task bar it shows USB drive.Does that mean I got to format it first or am I doing something wrong. Your help in this regard will be appreciated. Thank you.

new pc 1tb hdd to ssd clone advice needed

Ive just bought a brand new lenovo pc which has windows 10 home 64bit and has a 1tb hard drive fitted, im looking for advice on the following.

Ive fitted the ssd into the pc but its not shown up so need step by step guide on how to make it active ?

Next I need help on how to clone the 1tb hdd to the
Ssd drive, step by step and best software to use and have the ssd as the main drive then use the the 1hdd for storage.I just dont want to break my new system

Portable HD 1TB not reconized since Win10 Fall update

1TB SP Armor portable HD not recognized on 3.0 or 2.0 USB ports since Win10 Fall update. Ports will read USB flash drives. Also 1TB drive will read on another PC running Win 10 on both 3.0 & 2.0 ports. I have deleted drivers and reinstalled. Any suggestions
will be helpful. Thanks, Tom

 

Not booting to new HD after install

So old drive was dieing Toshiba 500gb, installed a WD 1tb. Ran the windows creation tool, pc rebooted and boots right back to the creation tool and starts the whole process over.

shut down, removed the creation tool, pc will not boot to the new HD. Kinda at a loss here. Suggestions?
