    New PC specs, installed Windows 10, cannot get through updates 1809/1903


    About 2 months ago I upgraded pretty much all aspects of my PC.


    I installed windows onto a new SSD via an installation disk and a new product code I purchased.


    It downloads to version 1607 by default, and in order to install new RTX 2080 drivers I must update my version of windows.


    I have attempted to install version 1809(through windows settings and update assistant) and 1903(update assistant), and both cause BSODs (System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled / IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal) and cancel the installation, taking me back to version 1607.


    Im on an endless loop and need help.

    Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

    I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?

    It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

    It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

    I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
