Windows 10: new "program" has appeared

I have a Surface 3 with Windows 10. Now when I start up and the desktop displays I get a pop-up box saying there is a program named "program" on the C drive that may cause problems with opening apps unless I rename it "program1". There is a file recently modified not by me as far as I know named "program" with a file type of "file" on the C drive. When I try to delete it I get a message I need admin privileges to delete the file. I am listed as the admin for this machine. But, I cannot delete the file. I found that I also cannot rename the file w/o admin privileges. I opened it in

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

I suggest you follow the steps below to fix your issue:

Method 1.
Check in the task manager if the program is still running and kill the process and relaunch the application. Tap on Ctrl+Shift+ESC simultaneously> right click on the task>click on end task to kill the process.

Method 2.
I suggest you to
update your Windows, refer the following link to
update Windows.

I would also suggest you to
reinstall the software and check if that helps. Please reply back with the information so that we can help you fix your issue.
