  1. New Samsung SSD not seen by Disk Manager

Bios sees the new SSD, device manager sees the new SSD, but Disk Manager is blind! Device manager says SSD is working properly and has the best Driver. I can't seem to find an answer as to why the new SSD is not seen by the Disk Manager. I cannot Initialize the SSD because the system does not see it where I have to choose to initialize. I even changed SATA port for new SSD to ensure that was not the problem, BIOS followed that change perfectly.Any thoughts from the community of smart people?

    :)

Win10 clean install on Samsung SSD 850 EVO

BLUF: SSD is not listed ubder "Where do you want to install Windows?"

    Steps Complete:

    1. I've create a Win10 bootable install usb.

    2. I connect the new Samsung SSD 850 EVO via SATA.

    3. I reboot PC and verify SSD is seen by the motherboard/BIOS

    4. Begin Win10 install via usb.

    5. Get to "Where do you want to install Windows?" and the SSD is not listed

    Problems:

    1. Samsung does not offer a driver for the 850 on their website

    2. Cannot locate driver elsewhere

    Unsuccessful Mitigations Steps Attempt:

    A. Format & partition SSD via Windows Disk Management, then retried steps 1-5 above....same result

    B. Clone existing HHD onto SSD via "Image for Windows" by TeraByte, then verified SSD contents via Windows Explorer....similar result

Can you please offer some advice on locating a driver for a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB drive? Or an alternative method?

    Thank you

  3. Disk Management for External SSD drive

I bought a Samsung 500 GB SSD T5 and I'd like to use it without the Samsung app, just as an external drive. Disk management shows it as a 42 MB partition. I'd like to delete this partition and reclaim the rest of my 500 GBs but nothing I do will allow
this. Is this an issue with the drive interface being locked to prevent this use?

    Any suggestions?

New Samsung SSD not seen by Disk Manager

SSD not being shown in disk management

    Hello,

We need to do further investigation on your concern so that we can identify the cause of the issue:

    • Have you tried connecting it to a different USB port?
    • Have you checked if the SSD is visible in Device Manager? Follow these steps to verify if it is visible in Device Manager:
      • Right-click on Start and click-on Device Manager.
      • Click-on the Disk drive and check if it is there.
      • If it is visible, try to check if you can update its driver.
Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.
