    New SSD and when used for booting it boots on a black screen with a white dash.


    I bought a new SSD for my pc, i plugged it in and realized it was on MBR and i converted it into GPT using disk management. Everytime i go to bios settings i have to turn off secure boot and open CSM so i can see my SSD but everytime i use my ssd as a boot option it boots into a black screen with a white dash. Other tech savvies told me to unplug the power supply and hold the power button, well the black screen white dash thing is fixed but it just resets my bios options it turned on secure boot and disabled CSM and my boot option is on the HDD and the SSD is missing. I need help with fixing t

    Booting in black and white

    My Lenovo thinkcentre is booting up in black and white since it updated windows.

    I have tried:

    • changing the colour filter; there is a visual difference between colour filter on and off but it is still in greyscale.
    • updating display drivers
    • uninstalling and reinstalling display drivers
    • clean reboot
    The odd thing is that on restarting normally the problem persists, but when I unplug the computer while booted and then turn it on again it comes on in colour. If it is in colour and then goes to sleep mode, it will wake up in grey scale.

    Please help!

    Why does my computer boot up to a black screen with a white dash

    Whenever I try and start my computer it boots to a black screen with a solid dash. If I turn it off and on over and over again it randomly boots up like normal sometimes, so I doubt it’s a hardware issue.

    Pc boots to black screen when ssd is connected

    Hello I bought a new ssd to use for storage. Pc works and boots fine without it but when I turn the pc on when connected it boots to a black screen, then flashes to another black screen and sits there. I’ve tried many methods so far and can’t seem to figure out why it would do that. I also cannot enter bios with ssd connected

    My motherboard is asus prime b450m-a

    Ssd is a silicon power 512gb sata III 2.5”, packaging references “notebook” so maybe it’s only for laptops?
