  1. New SSD Causing my Win10 to reboot unexpectedly, Would you please help me?

    I am facing a problem with a new SSD that i started using on my desktop. Here is the details of my issue;

    My desktop works totally fine No Crashes, No blue screens, No unexpected shutdowns or restarts and No Freezing with my current HDD WDC WD5000AAKX-083CA0 7200 RPM, but i wanted to upgrade it to get more speed and bought a Samsung EVO 860 500GB SSD. I cloned it and the cloning went perfect, i started using it and the system works and all my files were on the new SSD, but the desktop started to reboot every hour for no reason, and since the desktop doesn't do the same with the HDD drive i am currently using i decided to do a clean install of windows 10 on my new SSD and it was getting stuck on "getting windows ready" or after the windows screen pops up after the installation. With that being said, i thought that the issue was in the SSD, so I used the SSD on a laptop that i have and it worked totally fine No unexpected shutdowns or restarts. So i came to a conclusion that Samsung EVO 860 SSD is not compatible with my system even though Samsung and Lenovo assured me that it will work totally fine before i bought it. So i thought that Samsung technology doesn't work properly with my system that i want to upgrade. I decided to get deeper in the issue and try to find another SSD from another provider that would work fine with my system. However, before i do that, i thought of consulting Microsoft community and check if any of you faced the same issue and solved it.

    Please note that Lenovo scan tool showed me no errors on my system or motherboard and note that i do not have any added components Such as GPU on my motherboard. Additionally, The SSD has the latest firmware. Finally, I put my old HDD back on my system and as i said before, it works totally perfect.

    Is there a limitation on the size of the SSD that a system can handle?

    Do i need to change my PSU in order for the system not to shut down or reboot unexpectedly?

    Do i need to use a different brand of SSD Such as crucial in order for the system not to shut down or reboot unexpectedly?

    Any Ideas?

    Here is my system specifications;
    System type: M91p Desktop ThinkCentre

    System type & model number: M91p Desktop ThinkCentre - Type 4513

    Operating system installed: Win10 64-bit

    BIOS Version, Date: LENOVO 9HKT58AUS, 6/10/2014

    Win10 clean install on Samsung SSD 850 EVO

    BLUF: SSD is not listed ubder "Where do you want to install Windows?"

    Steps Complete:

    1. I've create a Win10 bootable install usb.

    2. I connect the new Samsung SSD 850 EVO via SATA.

    3. I reboot PC and verify SSD is seen by the motherboard/BIOS

    4. Begin Win10 install via usb.

    5. Get to "Where do you want to install Windows?" and the SSD is not listed

    Problems:

    1. Samsung does not offer a driver for the 850 on their website

    2. Cannot locate driver elsewhere

    Unsuccessful Mitigations Steps Attempt:

    A. Format & partition SSD via Windows Disk Management, then retried steps 1-5 above....same result

    B. Clone existing HHD onto SSD via "Image for Windows" by TeraByte, then verified SSD contents via Windows Explorer....similar result

    Can you please offer some advice on locating a driver for a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB drive? Or an alternative method?

    Thank you

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
    Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.
