    New storage server, Windows 10, attempt to change static ip address, hit apply, server automatically reboots. Why?Double-checked "admin rights". Attempts were performed using the Management NIC, nor data NIC.

    Windows (10 and Server 2016) having issues with static IPs

    I have repeatedly encountered a strange behavior on both Windows 10 and Server 2016. On systems with a static IP, after a reboot, sometime the adapter comes up with a self-assigned IPv4 address (169.254.x.x). When you check the adapter's properties, the
    static is still set, but when you do an IPCONFIG, it is using the self-assigned address -- sometimes with the proper statically-assigned gateway.

    To fix it I must either disable and re-enable the port or reboot the system. It happens randomly to servers and workstations with static IPs across all of our subnets.

    Is this happening to anyone else?

    Static IP issue with win server 2016

    I'm trying to contact windows server support with no luck, they asked me for Subscription ID and I have original license but I don't have that subscription.

    First I need valid way to contact commercial support.

    I'm trying to set windows server 2016 to Static IP but the server become offline, no internet access neither local reach. windows troubleshooting tool suggest to change mode to DHCP, and it works only on dhcp.

    this problem occurred when I enabled NIC Teaming on the server.

    I tried to set free IP from LAN, try to ping, scan, review. totally free IP but the same issue.

    The root cause I guess from windows server, how do I solve this problem?

    DHCP server does not assign IP and Yellow Exclamation mark

    Good Day, I am experiencing a bit of a problem with my DHCP Server (Windows Server 2012 R2). For some reason it is displaying yellow exclamation icons next to the server and scope tree items. When this happens, no new machines can connect to the network and automatically receive an IP address. My only way around this is to enter a static IP on the new machine, that does not appear in the DHCP servers Address Leases list. This seems rather strange as I can see gaps in the leased IP range but these are not being assigned automatically and the laptop does not complain when I enter it manually so it is not in use. Can anyone offer some advice or attempt to point me in the right direction.
