What Problem Event Name: LiveKernelEvent Code: 15e means ?

I got the same thing on 7/15/2017

I think I only had edge open and a command prompt but I could be wrong.

the only thing I know that changed was the july 13 firmware update

for the new surface pro. so far it has only happened once.

Your Surface Pro 4 is affected by the TPM Vulnerability. If you look at the
ADV170012 Advisory in the heading “Recommended Actions” you will see a reference to your Surface Pro in section #4, it is quoted below.

“4. Apply applicable firmware updates

If your hardware is a Surface device, firmware updates are yet not available as of October 10, 2017. Microsoft is working to make firmware updates available for following affected devices and will provide links to the updates when they become available.

Surface Studio

Surface Hub”

Is your camera completely not working or just not working with Windows Hello?
If it is not functional with Windows Hello only I suspect that the problem is with the TPM.

Try using the tpm.msc command in search window.

Received all the above except the Surface Management Engine driver using your link posted yesterday for the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit.

Just used normal updating to add the missing one.....thanks again for your help.

 

Update: Microsoft has now released the update history.

 

Haven't seen this update - is it for all Surface Pro 4's? I have the new one (2017).

That's correct. It's for all "Surface Pro 4" devices via Windows Update.

Still no sign of these firmware updates though - maybe they don't apply to the new (2017) SP? I have the i7/16gb/512gb version, running latest WU 1703/483.

It would appear that you have the new Surface Pro.....for a reason known only to M$ they decided not to update it to number 5.....but to leave out the number altogether.
Very confusing.

Yeah, it will only apply to the "Surface Pro 4" and not the new "Surface Pro" or other versions. *Sad

I think it might be advisable to remove the "New" from the title.
Just call it Surface Pro 4 to avoid the confusion.
