  1. New "top level" drive folders replicating drive names on non-system drives

My computer has a couple of extra NTFS drives - one is a SSD, one is a HDD.They are listed as drives F: and G:My system drive is C:, no drive D:, and drive E: is a system-restore reserved drive.I noticed that drives F: and G: now have new top-level folders that replicate the drive name. For example - Drive F: is named "Nova"Previously the top-level folders on Nova were "Games", "OldApps", and "Mods"So a valid path for example would be F:\Games\<game folder name>Now however there is a new top-level folder on F: also named Nova.So the new path for the same location is F:\Nova\Games\<ga

    CD drive error

    1) Close all open programs
    2) Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter
    3) Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    SYSTEM
    CurrentControlSet
    Control
    Class
    {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    4) This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

    UpperFilters
    LowerFilters
    UpperFilters.bak
    LowerFilters.bak
    5) If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete
    6) After deleting the keys, close the Registry Editor
    7) Reboot your computer
    8) Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

And it likely has something to do with the emulated drive you have listed there.

magically replicated drive contents to another drive

Why and how are contents of my d: drive being replicated on my E: drive. The contents are stored inside a folder with date format, year-month-day. Thanks

New "top level" drive folders replicating drive names on non-system drives

Turned Hard Drive into Music folder

    • Create a folder on the D drive and name it 'Music'
    • Move all the files and folders that should be in the Music folder into this new folder
    • Then in Quick Access, right click the Windows Music Library, select Properties
    • Then on the location Tab, set its location to the new 'Music' folder
    • When asked if you want to merge contents - Select 'No'
    • Click 'Apply' and 'OK'

If you want you can leave the music folder on the D Drive, or you can then click 'Restore Default' to move it back onto the C Drive

If needs be for the Documents folder, you can perform the same operation by creating a new Documents folder on the D Drive

NOTE: the important step is (5) do not merge the contents . . .
