  1. New (Updated Feb 2016) Windows 10 Version 1511 ISO's are up on MSDN

For any MVP's and others with MSDN subscriptions, there are new Version 1511 (Updated Feb 2016) Windows 10 ISO's available. Enterprise, Education, and Multi edition are all new. The Media Creation Tool may have them too, I haven't checked it yet. I'm still downloading from MSDN.

EDIT: Winver shows 10586.104 for the updated MSDN ISO. Clean install with no network connection.
Looks like they rolled in the Feb 9 th update listed here , http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...ory-windows-10 KB3135174

  2. Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3135173) - Error 0x80070005

    Hi, Please could you help?

I upgraded my PC from windows 7 to windows 10 on or before November 2015. All windows updates on windows 10 successfully installed since then and up until Feb 14 2016 (23 successful updates in all).

However from Feb 16 2016 until now, the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3135173) has repeatedly failed with Error 0x80070005.

Please would you have a fix for this?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Threshold update killed Cortana, search bar and windows store

I have clean installed 10240 using the ISO from MSDN via USB on the machine, and I no longer get the errors.

It only occurs when clean installing the 1511 version of Windows 10 Pro from the ISO on MSDN using USB.

New (Updated Feb 2016) Windows 10 Version 1511 ISO's are up on MSDN

ISO downloaded with MCT yesterday about 2:00pm was still build 10586.0 and still had the incorrect description of technical preview.

  5. I just downloaded the MCT and it shows 10.0.10586.117 for file version in the details tab in properties. 10586.122 is what my current install shows for version. I'm not sure what the MSDN ISO's are? What file would I check?

  6. The setup.exe file, in both ISO downloads shows 10586.0 for version. I'm not sure that's anything to go buy though?

Mount the ISO file. Open elevated ("run as administrator") command prompt. CD to the path containing the install.esd file or install.wim file on the newly created virtual dvd drive. Dual 32/64 bit the sources folders will be under x86 and x64. In single architecture downloads the sources folder will be just under the drive letter. Run the dism /get-wiminfo command on the install.esd or install.wim file.

How to See what Language, Edition, Build, and Architecture of Windows 10 for a ISO file

Code: C:\Windows\system32>cd H:\x64\sources C:\Windows\system32>h: H:\x64\sources>dism /get-wiminfo /wimfile:install.esd /index:1 Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 10.0.10586.0 Details for image : install.esd Index : 1 Name : Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview Description : Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview Size : 13,905,900,578 bytes WIM Bootable : No Architecture : x64 Hal : <undefined> Version : 10.0.10586 ServicePack Build : 0 ServicePack Level : 0 Edition : Professional Installation : Client ProductType : WinNT ProductSuite : Terminal Server System Root : WINDOWS Directories : 19312 Files : 98317 Created : 10/30/2015 - 1:27:01 AM Modified : 11/12/2015 - 2:47:01 PM Languages : en-US (Default) The operation completed successfully.[/quote] The date created is when Microsoft made the ISO file. The date modified at the end will be when you downloaded the file. The ISO file I downloaded yesterday is on another computer - I just posted the above as an example. Commands you will enter are in green. You might have a different drive letter - and if there is an install.wim file instead, then use install.wim in the dism command instead of install.esd.

If you find the ISO files on MSDN are still the same, please edit your OP to reflect that so people don't download 3-5 GB files with misplaced hope.

Have you run the DISM command on ISO's downloaded from MSDN? @Brink posted a similar post to yours in the how to download ISO tutorial yesterday - that's why I downloaded the ISO file and two of us posted corrections - the ISO file has not changed, only the version number of the MCT - he retracted his post and our corrections.

  12. MSDN ISO's show basically the same info only its an install.wim file Version : 10.0.10586 < shouldn't there be a .0 at the end, Version : 10.0.10586.0

The ISO's were updated on MSDN, according to Microsoft. en_windows_10_multiple_editions_version_1511_updated_feb_2016_x64_dvd_8379634.iso
    Something was changed or added?

Look at the servicepack build and servicepack level numbers. Those will indicate the minor version changes such as 122. If they are 0 - then you have 10586.0. Microsoft will change the version number of the installer (and sometimes ISO file name) to reflect an updated EULA or an internal change such as new languages that can be downloaded or installed with it - even when the base install Windows 10 build has not changed.

  14. Both show 0 so I guess its just 10586.0 with something changed or added? I'll add a note to my first post.
