    The driver installed is the latest on the website so should I just uninstall it in device manager?

    If you then reboot and have it connected the drivers are reinstalled again, we need updated drivers or a replacement of the device or simply the network adapter removed.

    It is my only way of internet connection luckily my dad has the exact same network adapter so I might try his and see if the problem continues?

    Same network driver = same network driver date & version, won't work.

    went back on the website and there is another driver but it says it only added win 8.1 driver didn't change the others but I just downloaded that anyway uninstalled the driver that was installed and installed the one I downloaded

    Now windows keeps on coming up that this program might not have installed correctly then it shows setup.exe for the wireless adapter

    That would be an incompatible installer.

    I think it would cause trouble, but it depends on the date & version of it. From what date is the cd?

    The date the drivers were modified on the CD are later than the Latest windows 7 drivers
