Windows 10: New User Labeled "Temp". How do I get rid of it and switch to my previous user account?

As subject line states, we've got a laptop that's been acting flaky. Earlier this week, I booted it up and found that my email shows no profiles I use thunderbird several pieces of software that I've bought and entered a serial/authorization number no longer has the authorization. I suspect this is because I'm using the new "temp" user and can't find a way to move to a different user. All helps I've seen indicated that my choices should should up on login screens but they don't appear. Any ideas?

New Account/User Issues

Hi,

When you create a new user account, Windows uses the Default user profile as a template to construct the files for the newly created user account. You might be experiencing issues creating new accounts due to a corrupt Default profile. To
resolve the issue, we suggest reinstating the Default folder in the
Users directory by following these steps:

• Log in as an administrator.
• Open the C:\Users folder using Windows Explorer.
• Rename the Default user profile folder to Default.OLD.
• Download a zip of C:\Users\Default from a Windows 10 installation that doesn't have this problem.
  
• Unzip the non-corrupt Default profile into C:\Users.
• Try logging in to the new user account and check if the problem is resolved.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to Switch users.

• 
  Press Ctrl + Alt + Del key altogether.
  
• 
  Click on Switch User.
  
• 
  Select the user with which you want to login.
  

If computer starts up with a user other than the one you want, login to that user account and switch user to the account that you need and check.

Cannot switch between user accounts

I recently added a new local administrator account on my laptop, and i've tried to switch users to the new account i just made and it wont let me switch. It doesn't list the other account when i try to switch users, and it doesnt show up on the lock screen
like it normally would.
