    MSI GE73 Raiser RGB 8RE

    Windows 10 Pro x64 19041.546

    I just purchased a WD_Black P10 Game Drive after my Seagate Expansion Drive suddenly and I lost 3.5 tb of games. the new WD_Black drive is not wanting to use the UASP mass storage driver, and I cannot figure out why. the seagate drive that failed was able to use the UASP drivers provided by windows, so I know my system can use the mode. UASP is much faster than the older USB mass storage which uses BOT protocol. I tried swapping out the cable, and even trying the drive on another system. in each case, the drive wanted to go into BOT transfer mode, not UAS. I tried plugging in a duplicate of the filed drive another seagate expansion drive and it immediately started using UASP. I was told that WD_Black drives were the best, but this is seeming like a rip-off. shouldn't these new drives be using the newer faster UASP and not the older usb 2.0 mode usb mass storage? the seagate drives have faster Read and write access than my internal 1tb HDD, but the WD_Black P10 read/write which is supposed to be a little bit faster than the seagate's, is nowhere where it is s supposed to be. the drive as it is right now is painfully slow, because it is using the older method for data transfer. any suggestions are welcome at this point.

    :)

    USB Attached SCSI (UAS) Mass Storage Device

    hi there,

    i have an external segate USB 3.0 hard drive.

    when i am connecting it to my PC (either to a usb 3/regular port) for some reason it is recognized as a "USB Attached SCSI (UAS) Mass Storage Device"

    I installed of course all of my drivers including the chipset.

    here is screenshot from device manager;

    i read on some post that i should try to right-click "USB Attached SCSI (UAS) Mass Storage Device" -> Update driver -> Browse my... -> Let me.. -> and then choose from the list "mass storage device".

    unfortunately i don't have that option.

    -i tried to uncheck the "Show compatible hardware" still no other options..

    any idea why?

    Thanks !
