Windows 10: new win 10 computer - can i install and use MS office 2007 OutLook

I know support has ended for ms office 2007. Would like to ask if it will install and work with win 10?

I am happy to use LibreOffice for documents but want to use my MS Outlook 2007 if possible. I've used it for years and prefer it over Thunderbird. I'm a home user and have no specific need for a new MS office suite.

Is it dangerous to have Office 2007 installed if I never use anything in the suite but Outlook for email? I use BitDefender for virus protection.

Of course, I'm assuming office 2007 will install and function on win 10.

Sync MS Office Outlook Calendar to Win 10 Calendar

I have MS Office Outlook 2007 would like to sync Outlook Calendar with Win 10 calendar. I've set up the Outlook 2007 email account to Win 10 email but do not see a way to sync Outlook calendar to Win 10. Help would be appreciated.

I have installed Office 2007 and Outlook 2007 on my new Windows 10 computer. Can I synchronize contacts and calendar from Outlook to new Windows apps? If yes, can someone tell me how?

 

Yes it will work fine on Windows 10.

 

If it's just for email, and you do not need anything else you should be fine especially with Bitdefender protection

Surprisingly I find the built in Windows 10 Email app pleasent to use ( and I still have legitimate copies of outlook 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2016,, but find it a little bit over featured for anyone not needing the Exchange Integration), so it may be worth taking a look

 

I have the full suite of Office 2007 installed and it works just fine, even with the latest update of Win 10.

Only issue with the latest 1709 update is that I have Outlook minimised to the systray and if I don't fully close it, it will launch automatically on the next startup. Since this never happened before I'm still in the habit of launching it manually at startup and I then get two copies running.

Not the end of the world - just irritating.

This is a known feature, to reopen certain Windows apps at next startup so you can resume your work quicker. Either close the program before you shut down or just leave it and don't launch yourself.

 

There are plans for on/off control of this new feature to be included in the Spring Upgrade 1803, due end of March, so should be better then - It's in the insider builds and working so should be fine when it arrives

 

This is a little-documented new feature introduced in the Fall Creators Update, Office and some other apps like IE and Task Manager will reopen on a restart.

Since 1709 os build 16299.214 you can turn off this feature by turning off 'use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device...'.

It's here now, since 16299.214, the only change yet to be made in the Spring Creators Update is to update the text in Settings to explain that this option is available.
