    New win 10 laptop and free One Note


    I have a new win 10 laptop and I see that one note is installed for free. I would like to use One Note but there I have a question first. I want all my notebooks to be saved on my laptop only (no syncing or saving copies in the Cloud); what we used to call Local Notebook. Yet when I start my free One Note the first thing it asks for is my email address which gives me the impression that I will not have local notebooks but synced notebooks. Is that the way it MUST be? Thanks in advance.

    CAN I OLD WINDOWS FILES

    Hi I upgraded my new Win8.1 laptop to Win 10.

    In my program files I have one called "old windows", can this be deleted to free up memory space.

    I have another laptop running win 8.1 so I will not reverting my new one back to win 8.1

    Doesn't work, and the solution to roll back drivers won't work for me either as I just purchased brand new laptop with the latest drivers on it.

    Does microsoft have an option if you purchased a new laptop with Win 10 to get a free install of Win 7 or something? This programme is one of the key programmes I use.

    Your E-Mail address is used by your Microsoft Account, may be how you log onto Win10.

    Thanks Berton for your prompt reply.
    Please humour this old geezer: If I want all my notebooks to be local notebooks and One Note came pre-installed on my laptop with the Win10 installation, why do I need to log onto anything? Or is it, perhaps, that only a link to One Note is installed on my laptop?

    Can't give a definitive answer to that as I don't yet have a need for OneNote but I believe it's tied in with OneDrive [the Cloud].
