Windows 10: New Win10 Pro laptop not recognizing ISOs mounted as CD-roms

I have a Dell Latitude 3520 laptop that came with Win10 Pro v. 21H2 OS build 19044.2251. I have many programs and games converted to ISO images for obvious reasons no CD/DVD drives in these things. I can mount an ISO and Win10 sees it just fine - even labels it as a CD-rom with a drive letter. I install the program from the ISO - everything is fine. I then try to run the program but get an error saying it can't find the CD-rom drive, or I need to load the CD. File Explorer still shows the ISO mounted as a CD-rom with a drive letter.
