Windows 10: New Windown11 Mini PC, Windows 11 Log in screen showing without log in box.

New Windown11 Mini PC, Windows 11 Log-in screen showing without log-in box for pin or password entry, Ctrl/alt/del does nothing cannot get into safe mode trying re-install. Any ideas please?

Black Screen after Log on


Computer boots to windows log on,have no password here.After a minute on log on it go to a black screen,stays there forever. I can get to Task Manager from black Screen,lost on what to do next. Just want my Windows 10 back, not sure what caused this problem. Any Suggestion on what my next step should be?*Sad

 

Log file for new Screen connection

Yes, there is a log file that records when a new screen is connected to a computer. On Windows systems, this log file is called "Microsoft-Windows-DisplayDriver-DisplayAdapterEventLog" and it records events related to display driver and display adapter changes, including when a new screen is connected.

To view this log file, you can follow these steps:

1. Press the "Windows + R" to open the Run dialog box.
   
2. Type "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter to open the Event Viewer.
   
3. In the Event Viewer, expand the "Applications and Services Logs" folder.
   
4. Scroll down and find the "Microsoft-Windows-DisplayDriver-DisplayAdapterEventLog" folder and click on it.
   
5. In the right pane, you will see a list of events related to display driver and adapter changes. Look for events with the "Information" level and the "Source" of "Microsoft-Windows-DisplayDriver-DisplayAdapterEventLog".
   
6. You should see an event that indicates when a new screen was connected to the computer.
   

Once you have identified the event that corresponds to a new screen connection, you can use it to trigger a task that sets the screen to extend. You can use the Task Scheduler to create a new task and set the trigger to be the event you identified in the log file.

So this is not a BSOD ? Have a Windows 10 disc or USB Flash Drive made ? How are you getting to task manager Ctrl.+Alt+Del ? Any cursor on screen ?
