  3. Windows 10 Pro for Workstation: Disable Consumer features and telemetry

    Hello,

is it possible to disable Telemetry completly (like with the level "Security" in the Enterprise SKU) in the new "Windows 10 Pro for Workstation" SKU? Furthermore, it would be interesting to know whether the GPO settings like disabling Spotlight on lock screen
etc ( in principle all listed at Group Policy settings that apply only to Windows 10 Enterprise and Education Editions (Windows 10)) are also available in the new SKU.

    Thank your for any hints.

    Yours,

    Julia

New Windows 10 Consumer SKU Roadmap Revealed

On other forums, people are reacting totally out of proportion. All it is about is how oems are base priced, and most users will not be impacted other than the minor inconvenience of turning S mode off.

A lot is made about PRO users having to pay an extra $49 but very few people buy oem PRO, and either buy a full PRO licence at $200 or upgrade Home at $100 (using lucky US pricing which is always far cheaper than UK).

The real question is how retail versions are going to be priced and marketed.

If the upshot was that full PRO was dearer than now, that would be contentious.
