Windows 10: New Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10074 now available

Running a 32bit dual boot (W10/W7 pro) on an old HP desktop and the apps still show "empty" with "Classic Shell 4.2.1 installed but I figure that a problem with the "Classic" and not W10. It started after 10041. The apps are still all there if I use the "Windows" button so no big deal so I'm not going to worry about it.

 

It was probably just the difference between compressing (the ESD) and decompressing (decrypt tool)

the difference is only 147,230,720 bytes (~147 MB)

 

The "automatically pick a color from my background" feature in this build picks an awful color, doesn't really match anything. The feature in 10061 picked a far more pleasing color. Could be the new transparency causing the color difference.

all of a sudden i cannot hit the left corner to bring out the startscreen.

Anyone else having this problem?

I've noticed some hesitation but it eventually comes up for me.

 

I've seen the Start button bug. Didn't respond to the mouse or Windows key. Reboot fixed it.

 

What's with Google maps? Won't run giving this message-This web page has a redirect loop.

 

What browser are you using?

 

Install from Windows update has been hung at 31% (applying pc settings 4%) for about 8 hours lol. I have to go to work. If it's still stuck when I get home I'm going to try a clean install with the iso. I had 10049 on there, it was buggy, lagged out and crashed constantly, so maybe it was just too messed up to even allow the update. It wouldn't let me install 10061 either.

 

i rebooted (the normal choice to do) but no luck, will reboot again now and see whet gives. But thanks.

Or is MS pushing us to Build 10074?

And why is this not an upgrade, the normal way?

Check if you are on Fast ring. But since 10074 ISO is already out, the update should be pushed to everyone.

 

yes Badrobot, i checked that. So i downloaded the ISO, but i wait for MS to do the trick.

Saves a lot of time.

And Linw, just rebooted for the second time, same result. I think it is MS preparing for the upgrade.

So i let it ride and see what gives.

10074 ISO's are now up on MSDN, finally. For those with subscriptions, MVP's etc.

 

Another way I've found to fix it is to open the task manager and kill ShellExperienceHost and then let it auto restart it. It's worked for me every time.

Build 10071 installed all by itself, which is nice.

BUT...in the Start Screen tiles are in the center of the screen.....Why is that. My god.....and i cannot move them. The only way to maeke this look decent, is to put all of them one below the other. But then you cannot get them high enough.
