Windows 10: New Windows 11 laptop: Microsoft Edge opens automatically and keeps opening new tabs

I have a brand new laptop so I don't think malware is involved.I set up Windows with only a local account sorry but I'm not into the whole Microsoft 365 ecosystem. The only time I've intentionally opened the Edge Browser was to install Chrome. Other than that, all I've done on this latop is install a couple of local software programs. Every time I come back to the laptop after it goes to sleep or restarts -- or even if just the screen times out -- The edge browser is open. If I leave it open in the background, I'll come back and more tabs have opened. I've made sure Edge isn't opened at Sta

Has anyone figured out how to open a new tab in the foreground in Microsoft Edge? (Right click a link, "Open in new tab"). The default is background.
