Windows 10: New Windows 11 laptop. No Verification code e-mail from Microsoft. Can't use new PC

Hi,I have just purchased a new laptop Acer Aspire 3 with Windows 11.I have gone through the set-up process including successfully associating my Live.com account with the new laptop. The new laptop then downloaded MS updates and restarted for first login.So far, so good. However, as I understand is usual with W11 on first login I have to request a mail with a verification code to my Live.com e-mail account. I have done this repeatedly and no mail arrives. As a result I am unable to access my new laptop. Things that I have done so far my experience is negligible so I may have missed man

Microsoft Account Verification E-mail Problems

After successfully setting up Windows 10 and, apparently, Microsoft Account, I spent many hours attempting to get Microsoft Account to recognize me via my Comcast e-mail addresses, with no luck. It would allow me to change e-mail addresses and notify me
of the same, ditto for passwords, and send codes to my phone. But whenever I tried to sign in with my Comcast e-mail and password, the "we sent you a verification e-mail" screen would pop up, asking me for the code received. But I never received any code
via Comcast e-mail. This prevented me from activating Office 2016 on my new computer, for a week. The Virtual Assistant was useless, as was all info I could find via Bing or Google searches. Finally, I changed my e-mail address to my seldom-used Gmail account,
and then successfully received a verification e-mail and was able to manage my Microsoft Account settings and activate MS-Office. This is beyond annoying, but I expect that Microsoft will blame Comcast for blocking its verification codes.

 

Other PCs can't access new Windows 11 laptop - what user name and password?

All PCs on my network are Win 10 except a new Win 11 laptop I'm setting up.

• After setting up permissions on the new laptop, it can access files on my Win 10 desktop, It asked for network credentials the first time. I entered either the Windows assigned account name or the Microsoft Live e-mail address (I forget which) along with my password and it worked fine.
  
• The Win10 desktop cannot access the new Win 11 laptop. It asks me to enter network credentials. When do enter either the Windows assigned account name or the Microsoft Live e-mail address and the password or PIN it always tells me the user name or password is incorrect. What can it be looking for?
  

Why is this not working both ways and what can be done about it?

 

Verification codes do not show up in my mailbox

After my laptop got a new motherboard the pincode of my laptop was no longer available due to a change in the security settings of the device. To set a new pincode I have to log in with my microsoft account, using a verification code sent to my microsoft mailbox. However, the mail with the code never appears in my mailbox. Not even after 45 minutes.

Then I tried to log into my account with a mobile phone which did not have that account active yet, again with a verification code. That code also does not appear in my mailbox.

I checked the account page and there the correct @hotmail.com address is listed as being used for logging in to my Microsoft account.

Any suggestions?
