Windows 10: New Windows11 laptop cannot create account. Get "Something went wrong"

Just purchased 2 new laptops. At first boot get questions to set-up laptop,Answer the following:- Choose language: English- Chose Keyboard: US- Additional keyboard: No- Enter Name: enter the account name for this laptop - Enter Password: Enter password for the new account - Note no definition about minimum requirement for the password- Repeat password- Security question 1: Select one and provide answer - Security question 2: Select one and provide answer - Security question 3: Select one and provide answer At that point laptop goes back to Enter Name with he Message"Something went wro

Am unable to create a new user. Accounts -> Add someone else to this PC options is not working to create a new account.

Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

Try few of the troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

I suggest you to sign out from the current user account, restart the computer, sign-in and check with the status of this issue. As this might be a temporary issue.

Follow the below steps to create a new user account:

• Press Windows + X keys from the keyboard, click on
  Control Panel.
• Select User Accounts, click on Manage another account.
• Select Add a new user in PC settings, click on
  Add someone else to this PC and follow onscreen instructions.

  Are you logged in with a Microsoft account or Local account?
  
• 
  Are you trying to create new user account using Administrator account?
  

I suggest you to run SFC scan.

Changing administrator for new windows 10 laptop

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

To change the Account type follow the steps.

• 
  Press Windows + X, click on User Accounts.
  
• 
  Click on change your account type.
  
• 
  Select standard account.
  

To delete the account follow the steps.

• 
  Press Windows + X, click on User Accounts.
  
• 
  Click on Manage other Account.
  
• 
  Select the user account.
  
• 
  Click on Delete the account.
  

To create the new user account follow the steps.

• 
  Press Windows + X, click on User Accounts.
  
• 
  Click on Manage other Account.
  
• 
  Click on Add A new user in PC setting.
