  2. Update PowerShell on Windows 10

The latest version of PowerShell is already installed in Windows 10, version 5.1:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/scr...

What you might need to do is update the help files:

The first thing you need to do on a new install is update the help. By default

PowerShell only ships with minimal help. For servers this usually isn’t that big

of an issue since you are unlikely to be using a server for your day-to-day

administration. To update the help, your computer needs to have an Internet

connection. From an elevated PowerShell session run this command:

    PS C:\>update-help

PowerShell will enumerate all of the installed modules, which are packages of

commands, find the link to updated help, download and install the help files.

  3. very slow system drive (on random access only!)

Since I have good boot times, and also there is no slow-down upon installing executables files I am not sure whether to consider it as controller-driver issue rather than an explorer issue.

If someone could suggest how to unzip a file from powershell, if supported, I'd like to try from CLI.

PS: Unzipping by a 3rd party application does work seamlessly.

So it seems a windows problem; what confuses me is that crystaldiskmark is also measuring low speed.

Hopefully this will help in tracing back to the real cause.
