Windows 10: Newer laptop. Signing in to windows. Won't sign in.

Newer laptop. Signing in to windows. One microsoft account no option to switch. It asks for password then accepts it and wants to set up a pin. Setting up the pin "something went wrong." Options to retry- same result. Option to skip used to sign in but now goes back to start up.

Steam won't sign in?!

Whenever I try to sign into steam it doesn't sign in, it just stays there. I put an incorrect password and it says it's incorrect though if I put my proper password it won't log in?!

This is what I see:

i checked for updates this morning and all their was was a security update,after it updated successfully i did a restart , now when my login screen comes up i don,t have the option to put in my password, it just ask for a pin number which i have but when i try to use the shift key to start to put in my pin it won,t put in the # sign. when i get on the internet by going through reset pin which i cancel, i can use the shift key then to put the # sign in.

It's possible for you to change the sign-in method of your computer once you're logged in. Since you can't remember your password, if you're using your Microsoft account, we suggest that you follow the steps

If you're using a local account, follow the steps here instead: Reset
your Windows 10 local account password.



Once you're able to sign in, you can change the sign-in options by following these steps:

  Click Start.

  Type Sign-in options.
  
• 
  Press Enter.
  
• 
  Under PIN, click Add.
  
• 
  Enter your password or any other required information when prompted and click
  OK.
  
• 
  Enter at PIN number with at least 4 digits and click OK.
