    Newly added alias will not verify.


    I have successfully added a second email account alias with the intention of making it the new primary alias. I have gone through the process of trying to verify the new alias via the emailed link, about 6 times. Each time, I have been able to use the email link and re-sign in using the existing primary alias. When I return to the screen where you change/delete aliases, I am told the new account needs to be verified yet again via an emailed link. And round in circles we go.

    Sorry to inform you that there is no option to add a telephone number as Alias.

    Alias email not getting verified

    Hello,

    I am adding an email into " Manage how you sign in to Microsoft "

    under

    Account aliases
    I verify the email

    "Verify this alias

    You need to verify that you own this email address. We'll send an email with a link to XXX@X****. Follow the instructions in the mail to continue."

    I get the email, I follow the instructions but nothing happens.

    It brings me to this:

    View basic information about your account


    • Birthdate
      October x, xxxx

    • Gender
      Not specified

    • Country/region
      Canada

    • Time zone
      Eastern Time, Montreal, Quebec (EST)

    Note: This setting doesn't affect any newsletters or alerts you've requested, or any mandatory communications from Microsoft services.

    You're not currently receiving promotional email from Microsoft.
