Windows 10: News and Interests running in background in TASK MANAGER - NO RESOLUTIONS SO FAR

My miserable life with News and Interests running in task manager with windows 22H2, without no option to disable it in Task Manager yes in Task Manager only, and not in task barGuys I am using Windows 10 22H2 Home, that means gpedit will not work !! right, so other steps I tried was having 10 rounds of sitting with Microsoft tech support team, so they tried, tried, tried, tried but nothing worked, no RESOLUTIONS !!!!!!If you do "end task" it re-appears within 2 minutes and appears even after restart too - so what an essential need of the hour the so-called News and Interests always run in

Background tasks no-longer running

So I've now got my background tasks working again with the help of people at the WPCentral forum. They advised that I uninstall apps that can use background tasks, whether those tasks are enabled or not. The theory is that Windows Phone has some kind of
issue with there being too many apps installed that register the use of background tasks and that disabling the background tasks does not help.



So here's what I did:

• Go to settings --> swipe left --> background tasks --> advanced.
• Make a list of all of the apps installed that can run background tasks.
• Uninstall as many of those apps as possible. In my case, I had quite a few apps that I actually rarely use.
• Restart the phone.

That's it. The background tasks for the apps I actually want to be able to run then just started running again. One person in the thread suggested you can also work around the problem by careful configuration of each app to disable background operations
you don't actually want, without having to uninstall them.

Task Manager not running


I have added a new task to the ones already populated which I suppose were in Win7
The new task or the present tasks are not running as there is no entry in the history or
recently run file
are there other steps necessary to get the new task manager to start up ?

 

Windows 10 - cannot add exec to Startup in Task Manager

I purchased a new computer with Windows 10 already installed. I am trying to add an exec to the startup list but Win10 will not accept it. The exec runs successfully on my Windows 10 machine if I start it manually.

Steps I've taken: Task Manager, Startup Tab, File>Run New Task. (browse to location, select.) It will start immediately, but does not show up on the list to autostart, nor does it start on reboot.

Any suggestions?
