Windows 10: News & Sports apps not doing notifications

I can't get notifications from either app. I found one suggested fix about resetting the Action Center, but while that fixed another app that wouldn't show notifications, it didn't do anything for those two. I tried turning them off and on in Background Apps, resetting the Sports app, and uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing worked. I really, really don't want to reset Windows 10 itself, so is there anything else I can try?

I suggest you please follow the below steps and check if it helps:

• 
  Type notification on the search bar and click on
  notification & action settings.
  
• 
  And click on select which icons appear on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Turn on show app notification separately for each app.

SPORTS APP - Not getting Notifications on Windows 10

I have other apps set for notifications, but seems like the only notifications i get are from Flipboard app or from Mail app (emails). I dont seem to get notifications from the other apps. I have Money app and News app set for notifications and i dont
get any notifications for those either.

Money and News app are not pinned to the start tiles. Sports app is pinned to start tiles. Flipboard is pinned to start tiles so i still get updates for Flipboard.

So Money,News and Sports apps - no notifications.

Flipboard and Mail app - lots of notifications.

I will try the things you suggested. Thanks.

UPDATE: Ok, i did the apps downloads and updates - check for updates.. at the Windows store and it spun for a while and then the box was green again from gray and i dont see that much happened. I guess there were no updates to be made.

Yes me too! Only with my FB app which was already installed when I upgraded to W10. wont load and was removed from my Notification List, I miss getting my messages via notifications, I did all the steps suggested but still nothing
