    night light feature disabled after installing recent windows update


    Hi

    I have 2 notebook computers at home.

    One is a macbook, the other microsoft surface pro 4.

    After installing the latest windows 10 update, the macbook has the night light feature disabled. i cannot turn it on.

    The other surface pro computer has no problems.

    I wonder why? And how can i use the night light feature on my macbook windows 10? I dont want to stare into blue light much.

    We recently have been receiving posts regarding Night Light after the Windows 10 Creators Update. To help you troubleshoot the issue regarding Night Light settings that are grayed out, we suggest to try to apply the steps provided by SurenderKhokhar

    A bug to disable W10's night light feature?

    Since I was using this PC very late at night earlier, I noticed W10 v1803's screen had a

    yellowish tint color. I thought my VGA cable was an issue, but I didn't see this problem at

    BIOS, boot up, etc. I literally saw white turns to yellowish at W10's login screen every time I

    boot up W10. I can't seem to fix it with How to fix Windows 10 Yellow Tint display issue for good

    suggestions. Disabling night light did not save and change my screen. I did manage to make it

    work if I disable the automatic date and time, and put 1 PM instead of 1 AM. I was able to save

    the change to disable this night light feature. I re-eneabled the automatic date and time, and

    it kept my disabled setting.

    Strange! A bug? Or something broken in this W10 installation?

    Why is the Night light feature malfuctioning?

    Malfunction of the night light feature is a known bug in the v.1903 feature update. See the information from Microsoft

    here    . Look for the paragraph that starts "Gamma ramps, color profiles, and
    night light settings     do not apply in some cases." No fix issued yet and considering how many bigger issues Microsoft has to deal with, my guess is that a fix for night light is lower down on the list.
