Windows 10: Nightlight turns on when I boot up my pc

So a couple of weeks back I was messing with windows settings and decided to turn on night light since I’ve never used it before. My screen changed to a different color and I didn’t really like it so I changed it back. The next day, when I boot up my pc, light light automatically turned on. When I went to settings it says that night light is off but it’s clearly on. I turned it “on” and the screen went to normal in an instant and then turned to night light. I turned it off and everything went back to normal. I didn’t really think that it was a virus that was causing the problem wince this only started when I was messing around with night light in the first place but I did a scan anyway and it turned out negative as I predicted. It’s a minor annoyance at worst and can be fixed by just going to the settings when I boot up but I want to know if any of you guys have this similar problem and if there is any way to fix it.

I deleted the two registry entries suggested here, but the nightlight setting is still grayed out, nightlight

If I create a new account this setting works fine . I could delete the malfunctioning account but short of copying the registry from one account to another, I don't know how to move the files and few setting and make a few programs available in the new.
If I copy and move the registry then the defect follows.

Any suggestions please.

Thank you for the answer. I am rather weary of replacing the OS to correct the nightlight problem. I can just start using another account, a less drastic solution. The SSD is not easily swapped so I would have to erase the current drive or install
over, a sometimes problematic step. Thanks.
