    NixOS + Win 10 boot: OSError: [Errno 28] No space left on device /boot


    I am using an old laptop with Windows 10 installed. I also wanted to try out NixOS, alongside that windows OS. I also tried installing some packages, tried the nixos-rebuild command then the problem came. The boot partition which came with Windows is 100 MB.If you see there is another Microsoft partition which reserved for some purpose, so can't increase the size. Did anyone had similar problem? Were you able to solve this problem?

    Win 10 boots...

    I can't answer to the speed of Win-8 booting. I tried the Win-8 preview and went back to Win-7 after a month. They say that Win-8.1 is a lot better than Win-8 was.
    My Win-10 TP is working well ATM.

    Win 10 boots...

    Interesting that it works on that oldie but goody laptop.

    I don't notice any speed lags with Win-10 TP, but I'm using it on an i5-4670K system with an SSD for the boot drive, so it's snappy.

    Yes, it's called the Windows Technical Preview and you can get it here (ISO Download)

    You'll have to sign up for a MS account using your email and a password.

    I'm using it with a 480GB SSD as the OS drive and it ~does~ boot faster, much faster.
    I also have a new Win-7 build with a pair of 120GB SSDs in RAID that takes longer to boot.
