  1. NMVe SSD not showing up unless CSM in enabled

So I wiped my computer because i bought new pc parts, and wanted to change the windows location to my nvme ssd, as it was on an another ssd before. But no matter what I do, i can't get it to launch, or show up in bios after installation. I tried it with windows 11 and 10, with media creation tool and with ISO, with different pendrives, secure boot is set to UEFI mode, CSM is disabled, i tried formatting the drive manually to tcp from diskpart, tried with a normal ssd, etc. I just can't get it to launch. Some specs:Motherboard: TUF GAMING X570-PLUSBIOS version: 5013NVMe: KINGSTON SFYRS 1000G

Disabling Optane and Installing NMVe SSD

I've been trying to disable the IBM Optane RST in my system in preparation to installing a 1 TB NMVe SSD in the M.2 slot

With no success. I'm new to Windows 10 and all the fancy-schmancy gizmos like Optane RST memory and the like so....

My biggest hurdle seems to be disabling the Optane and switching the mechanical harddrive over to ACHI

Here are some screen pix of my system's bios.... showing specifically the SATA and Optane related parts. BIOS is latest & greatest

And as an afterthought, do I need need to turn off boot protection?

I also tried Mr Brink's tutorial steps on ACHI turn on after installing to no avail

(Enable AHCI in Windows 8 and Windows 10 after Installation)

Cannot disable CSM to enable Secure Boot

Winver. 22H2 19045.3208 Hi there, I am having difficulty in enabling Secure Boot even when it is supported with my motherboard on the ASUS website. I was made aware of this by using the PC Health app:
NMVe SSD not showing up unless CSM in enabled 394725d1691101332t-cannot-disable-csm-enable-secure-boot-image_2023-08-03_232205769.png
After a bit of research, CSM being enabled in the BIOS can be a reason why Secure Boot is showing up as Unsupported on my msinfo32 report:
NMVe SSD not showing up unless CSM in enabled 394724d1691101332t-cannot-disable-csm-enable-secure-boot-screenshot-2023-08-03-225313.png
However, I cannot disable CSM on my pc as it does not boot Windows 10 after the change, meaning that either something in my pc does not have a UEFI driver or that it is due to my primary disk being MBR and not GPT (according to research). Any help with potential fixes or suggestions is much appreciated, thank you NMVe SSD not showing up unless CSM in enabled :)

Windows refuses to install on NVME SSD (Samsung 960 EVO)

First, thanks everyone who copy-pasted the first relevant results they found in Google. I found those before I asked the question.

The solution that I got to work is as follows:

    • Disable CSM / UEFI
    • Enable Secure Boot
    • Now the installer can access the NVME SSD
      • Format the drive
      • Restart the machine

    • Enable CSM / UEFI

    • Disable Secure Boot

    • Proceed to installer and now Windows will allow you to install to the NVME SSD drive
