  1. No 1920x1080 resolution while using Windows 10 - cannot update drvrs

Hi, I just recently upgraded to Windows 10 on my Dell XPS laptop but I seem to be stuck with 1024x768 screen resolution with no way to change it. From the research I've done it seems to be a driver issue but I have been unable to locate a working resolution to updating the driver. My laptop uses an Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 card and I found what seemed to be an update page for the driver but I just get taken in an endless loop with no options to actually download the driver.

    Intel Download Center

Whenever I go to download, it takes me to a page where I can choose 1 of 2 downloads. Basically, it's just a web address that brings me to the Windows Update page but not an actual download. I have checked my Windows Updates and completed all pending actions. I checked again and everything is up-to-date. In another forum I found this download:

    Intel Download Center

But neither of these are working on my machine. I'm computer literate but not an expert so I appreciate any suggestions or help. Thank you!

    :)

  3. Issues with Microsoft Treasure Hunt and Windows 10

What screen resolution do you have?

I also have the problem on a laptop with native resolution 1600x900. If I do a remote desktop session to the notebook in 1920x1080, the problem is gone. Also, on a desktop PC with native resolution 1920x1080 I do not have the problem.

So I guess, it is a problem with resolutions other than 1920x1080. In the latter resolution, it seems to work fine as of December, 19th, 2015. No 1920x1080 resolution while using Windows 10 - cannot update drvrs :)

    Best regards

I think that you're supposed to get the latest drivers from Windows Update.

    Failing that, maybe these:

    Intel Download Center

(You have to accept the license agreement to start the download.)

    Interesting, but not very informative.

The only explicit WIn 10 drivers that I find for the HD3000 are:

    Microsoft Update Catalog

They may be 32 bit ones.

Another method is to download the zip file and then extract it to a folder like "HD3000 drivers" or anything that will make it easy for you to identify. It's important to remember where the location of the extracted folder is. Open Device manager>Display adapters and select the display adapter you want to update the driver for. Right click on the device and select 'Properties'. Go into the 'Driver' tab, select 'Update Driver...'. Select 'Browse my computer for driver software'. Now hit the browse button (ensure there is a check mark in the box beside 'include subfolders' also) and navigate to the driver folder you extracted from the zip files and click 'Okay'. Click next. It should go through the files and update the driver accordingly.

If all goes well, you should have the driver installed without issue.
