The issue that you're experiencing may be due to a corrupted user profile. We have found a workaround regarding the "Access denied" error. Kindly follow the steps below.

• Press Windows key + E to open File Explorer.
• Copy the files that you want to zip.
• Paste it in the Downloads folder.
• From there, zip your file. You may follow the steps provided in this
  article.

.zip can't be set to File Explorer

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• 
  Type Default programs
  in the search bar and press enter
  
• 
  Click on choose default programs by file type
  
• 
  Select .zip
  and select File Explorer

Sending Zip files

I've been sending Zip files with no problems in past but this year these same files have been unable to be opened.

The ERROR message when trying to open is Ox 8000 4005. Running Windows 10 on my System.

Have done some research & it is possible the Zip Compression Method [ALGORITHM] is incorrect.

*Can you explain how I can find this in WINDOWs 10 & amend if need [I thought this is inbuilt in WINDOWs 10?

Also Research has suggested that I should download WINZIP or 7-ZIP to fix this problem.

Can you give me some HELP with this PLEASE.
