Windows 10: No access to Ubuntu files from Linux icon in file explorer

Hello,From File explorer Linux icon, I try to acces to my Ubuntu file. On click, nothing happens and there is no Ubuntu files displayed in right side of File Explorer.Using \\wsl$ in the address bar, I see my Ubuntu files.My Windows is the following:Windows 10 entrepriseVersion 21H2Build: 19044.2251Could you help me ?Best regards.

Quick Access Recent Files icons in explorer are blank - no icon






Hi, you can see the two white Recent files entries with no icons. I seem to have no other issue with icons.

I've tried deleting and rebuilding the icon cache, and clearing explorer history.
The problem remains having done the anniversary upgrade.

This used to be fine, and I don't know when it changed, unfortunately, so suggesting system restore or restoring disk images (which I have) may not be the best way forward.

Any suggestions please? Thanks!

Now i think what's it is

The Admin account Im on has denied permissions of access for other users (cannot access folder lists, no reading no writting)

But I can others.

Some of the Fraps Movies I moved from C:/ other_user ... to D: ... but D is public for everyone. (games/data)

But still why the heck do encoded files retain that ... it's weird.

EDIT: There should be some win7 article on this, there should be more of these variants. But there's no LOCK icon on the folders either.

Also I found the LOCK icon to be kind of stupid ... when you have access it's shown as "locked" but when you dont have access it's not shown at all.

Yes the permissions are retained for other_user , it's denied and I also can't seems to remove that ... Ah these inherited permissions, need to move em around ... but need to wait to complete first.

 

Help with XFS file system (linux)

Short version: i have a NAS device i bought on impulse. It works fine.


However, the ONLY file system it supports, is linux based XFS.


I need to find an operating system that i can run in a VM or boot from a live CD, that will allow me to access the data on these drives should the NAS fail.

I've tried the latest ubuntu - and failed. it didnt see the drive(s) appear when connected to the system.


Can someone suggest alternative operating systems i can try? i'm quite the beginner with linux. ALL i want is something that reads XFS hard drives from this stupid buffalo NAS, and will allow me to copy them to other drives.
