Windows 10: No audio after a 1 second power outage

From Googling, it seems quite a few people have had this problem specifically that audio stops playing after an abrupt power outage. I don't see any agreed upon solution yet.


Yes, I ran the troubleshooter a million times. It kept saying it fixed my issues and that I needed to restart, but when the PC would boot back up, audio still wasn't playing.


I tried changing devices, I tried disabling/re-enabling speakers.


Nothing is muted.


In the Sound settings window, the option Realtek Digital Output seems to be the input device? There is a bar jumping like that on a mixer I have audio playing on iTunes even though I can't hear it, but then the entry goes blank in the dropdown under "Choose your output device."

No Audio After Power Outage

Yeah that is odd after the power outage. I'm looking for other solutions to fix audio issues on laptop, and did find this article which seemed to help people tremendously -

That being said, it's weird this started happening right after the outage...

No Audio After Power Outage

After a power outage about a week ago, my friends audio is not working. Her headphones and speakers are perfectly fine, and she thinks it's something with the computer itself rather then the devices. She's uninstalled and reinstalled practically everything
and is almost out of hope.

I personally think something happened when the power came back, and destroyed some audio ware in the computer. The only problem is I'm no expert which is why I'm here.

Are there any other solutions for getting her audio to work?
