    No audio from troubleshooter tones but can play MP3


    I installed an additional computer. Troubleshooting no microphone the troubleshooter plays tones which are inaudible. But I CAN play music using windows media player. I'm routing audio from computer to Bose radio aux input.

    Hi,

    I appreciate if you could answer to a few questions to narrow down to the issue.

    • Which is the application that you are using to play the files?
    • Did you try the same on a different player?
    • Did you perform any troubleshooting steps?
    As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to check if the volume is set low or in mute state in Volume Mixer.

    • Right click on sound icon.
    • Open Volume Mixer check for the application that you are playing the files with and increase the volume and check.
    If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to run “Playing audio” troubleshooter to diagnose and fix the issue.

    Follow these Steps to run Playing Audio Troubleshooter in Windows 10.

    1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

    2. Select Troubleshooting.

    3. Select View all on the top left corner.

    4. Click on Playing audio.

    mp3 ringing tones to 6230?

    If you just want the mp3 as a ring tone, it would be a good idea to make it a bit smaller. The phone will not play the who MP3 as a ring tone, it will only play about 20 seconds. I always just take the part of the MP3 that I want and I save space on the
    the phone. Applications like Audacity are perfect for this

    No audio from speakers; Failed to play test tone.


    I have a Dell Latitude E6520 running Windows 10 Pro x64. When I try to watch YouTube I get no audio. Spotify plays and gives no errors but doesn't have sound. When I plug in headphone sound plays but as communications headphones. When I try to play a test sound through Speakers/Headphones I get an error that says "Failed to play test tone." When I try to troubleshoot it can't identify the problem. I have attached the report from troubleshooting.
