No audio installed on my PC after I updated my PC....and I tried to install an Audio device but it cannot be installed....Please help me...

I've tried every step that was suggested, still getting no audio output device installed.

 

Modem on HD Audio device not installed....

I just bought a Toshiba Equiem P200D 139 lappy which came with Vista. Having spent a couple of days with it its obvious that Vista is a bit too much for it (or maybe it was the pre-installed bloat...), so I've installed XP Pro on it. So far so good, its much more responsive now, and I've found most of the drivers for it (a bit of a chore since Toshiba don't list any XP drivers!!).

Device Manager only shows one remaining triangle, beside Modem on HD Audio device, and I just can't find a driver for it! Tried right clicking and update driver, which worked for a few devices, but this one obstinately refuses to work. Any ideas?*Bang Head :banghead:

The latest Windows update seems to have a bug in it, lots of users are reporting loss of audio after the latest Update

Open Device Manager (accessible by right clicking your Start Button)

Expand the Sound, Video and Game Controllers section

Do you see an audio device listed there or in Unknown Devices?

Is it Intel HD Audio?

If that is Intel HD Audio:

The fix is to go to the support page for your device on the manufacturers website, then download and install the audio device drivers they recommend, those will be compatible with your PC, unlike the ones installed by Windows Update . . .

From listening to other users, it seems Windows is reporting you have Intel HD Audio, but the driver you need is a Realtek driver from that Support Page . . .

If you have any difficulty locating the support page for your PC, what is the Make and exact Model No. of your PC - that will be printed on a sticker on the bottom casing . . .
