No audio, 'No Audio Output Device Is Installed', have already updated BIOS and chipset and drivers, Windows 10

I am having this VERY same issue and have exhausted the VERY same measures as you did. I would love to hear a resolution but I don't guess there will be one given.

Please, any more suggestions? I'm thinking that there is a way to fix this.

And when I updated the driver for 'High Definition Audio Codecs', Device Manager switched it to 'Realtek High Definition Audio', even though that was already listed under 'Sound, Video, and Game Controllers' (so now 'Realtek High Definition Audio' is listed
twice under r 'Sound, Video, and Game Controllers'.

Device Manager also allowed me to install 'Intel WiDi Audio Device', but it still makes no sound at all.

And under 'System Devices', my computer tells me that the driver for 'High Definition Audio Controller' is up to date, but it still has a yellow bang mark next to it (nothing I do seems to ever change that - any suggestsions?)

  4. No audio output device installed and battery icon

    Welcome to the TenForums

Lets see if we can get battery icon back. Right click in a clear are of your task bar where there are no icons. A menu opens, left click on Settings right at bottom. A settings window opens, scroll down page until you see "Select which icons appear on taskbar" click this.

You should scroll down or find the Power icon. Set it on.

If it is grey out, dimmed, let us know.

For audio. Please type make and specific model number of laptop. We need this to understand audio issue. Can you insert screen print from device manager showing adapter. USe alt-prt scrn so we just get that window. Save the file to desktop. In you next post insert picture my clicking on the icon just to right of the globe with red x.

    Make and model please.

  6. Thanks. I looked up your I-Life Zed Air Laptop. Not a lot help on their web site, no drivers, some specs. no manuals.

First your Power icon in the Notification settings screen. Is the On / OFF switch greyed out. By this I mean you can see but it dim, a much softer colour. If so Under the word Power on the left is there a message, "No battery is detected"? If so even through your battery is in your laptop doesn't sense it. I would call the vendor and ask how do I reset this condition. Your laptop looks very slim and like everything today, its sealed so you can't remove. Maybe there is a trouble shooting available through your boot that will take you to diagnostics.

Please create a restore point before proceeding further.

On your audio, please open device manager and head to your audio. Find your device, properties and get to driver screen. Is the option to "Roll Back" driver available? If so roll back back driver and reboot. If roll back is not available uninstall device and reboot. Windows should re-install. Do you know what audio device is in your machine. A lot are Realtek. If you know yours and model /device number post.

If this fails, and while you are on phone with vendor ask them where you can get the right driver for your machine. They should be able to supply link.

You may want to disable windows from updating drivers in future. We can discuss that next post.

Please also investigate using Macrium Reflect to "Image" your system. Its free and provides a quick way to return to a fully operational system.

Thanks. In your device manager under View, can you select show hidden devices. anything related to sound or battery show up.

When it doesn't detect battery it says right under power, at least on my Home version, No battery detected.

    You created restore point.

Type troubleshooting in Cortana search bar. At top select click on Troubleshooting(Control Panel), window opens, on left click view all, scroll down, select Power.

While were there you may also wish to click playing audio.

Lets see what windows has to say.

  10. Sounds like your store will help. Maybe you could contact i-life directly. I went there and they didn't have any support listed for your device so they must be developing it. They did have "contact" info.

    i-life.us

Can I ask is you system 32 bit or 64. I ask as there appears to be drivers for 32 and 64 and since they are coming from different places they have different names. Would be good to know. No drivers for your sound version are listed at Intel site but they are available from "Driver" sites. Any members reading this, do you have a prefer third party site to download drivers from?

On your battery not sure where to go next... for some reason it is not being detected. I would suggest you uninstall the Microsoft AC adapter. Then let windows detect.

Seems you have a new problem, your PC just shuts off? Did I get this right? Is this because it is out of power or is the battery discharged and it just shuts off.

Then there appears to be your desire to boot USB.

Do you have all your data backed up and off the laptop. On an HDD or USB. All your data. Your data must be off the laptop.

I'm going to suggest you do a factory restore. Modern devices come with a partition that allows you to go back to the day it was shipped to you. There is some risk in this.

DO THIS PROCESS UNDERSTANDING YOU DECIDED TO DO IT.

I'm provide the bread crumbs so if you want to follow you can.

When you first turn on your device, you should be presented with a Vendor screen. Since your is an Atom processor I'm assume you can see it before it flashes off. At the bottom, usually, there will be some messages like press ESC to enter setup or F2 for setup or even DEL to enter setup. This takes you into BIOS, the first thing you want to try is to load defaults, save, exit and reboot. See if this corrected it.

If you can get into BIOS you should also see some boot options. Incorrectly configured BIOS can result in your machine not booting at all. Proceed with caution. May times you can re-enter and reload defaults. Here is where you should be able to set up for a boot from USB.

If problems persist restart your machine again. Now we are looking for the words recovery or factory reset. I see this being F11 on a lot of cases. Yours could be different. Understand if you go down this path your device, if they programmed it correctly, will ask you a couple of questions to confirm and then will load your device with the factory software. Some protect your data, some over write everything, gone.

Again, this is your decision. First I would contact I Life. Good luck and post back what you decided or did.

  12. Hi safeer. Welcome to the TenForums @safeer

Please start a new thread with your issue. Please be specific, what unit do you have, what version / build of Windows are you using.

You can get the version build number by ...

windows key + R, type winver, enter.

When you said you tried to install Windows but it failed what message did you get.
