Windows 10: No Audio Since June 2020

I've tried everything

I now have ONLY Device speakers. No System speakers showing

I have a constant BUZZING

I've reset PC 3 times

I have tried reinstalling REALTEK

I've tried installing old drivers

This happened in June 2020

I've been told many different things to try and have tried them all

I have a GREY colour where the JACK INFORMATION

It's Realtek High Definition

When I go to the Device Manager it says it's working

when I run TROUBLE SHOOTING it says

the device you are configuring has been removed


AUDIO SERVICES NOT RESPONDING Not Fixed

This feedback audio doesn't work is the top issue we are tracking, and we're focusing a lot of effort on trying to fix it.



One of the challenges with audio on Windows is it is a complex system with a lot of moving parts; there are a lot of things that can break.



Depending on what breaks, different things might happen. You might get an error message; there might be a crash; things might get stuck; or you might even be in a situation where everything LOOKS like it's working, but yet no audio comes out.



There's a multitude of different things we're looking at, finding problems with, coming up with fixes for, coming with workarounds for, doing preventive maintenance on, etc. – but this type of issue often doesn't have a simple fix.



While we continue to work on this, we'll be keeping an eye on this feedback and your comments, to see if we're doing a good job. In the meantime, here are some of the specific things we're working on:



1. Getting the right driver



We're working with audio hardware manufacturers and system builders to make sure that the audio driver on Windows Update is the right one for your system, and that Windows 10 works well with it.

In cases where there are problems, we're working to get fixes; in the meantime, we'll be utilizing use the HD Audio class driver as a workaround, where appropriate.



2. Fixing crashes



We're looking at data from the automatic crash dump collection system, known as "Watson", to find and fix problems that affect the audio services and audio drivers.



3. Fixing hangs



We've added hang detection into our service-side telemetry so we can keep an eye on how often the audio services are getting stuck. We've also been reaching out to Windows Insiders to grab process dumps of the audio service on certain machines; this has been very useful in making fixes!



4. Fixing error messages



We have error telemetry that lets us keep an eye on what kinds of error messages are being raised by what apps and on what systems. In some cases, this is sufficient to figure out the problem and get a fix. We're also reaching out to Windows Insiders to grab more heavy-duty traces, to get more detail on what went wrong leading up to the error; this has also been very useful!

We suggest that you run troubleshooting for Audio Recording by following these steps:

• Type troubleshooting on the search box.
• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.
