  1. No Audio, Troubleshooter showing driver issues

December 12, 2:00am I shut down my computer and applied the pending Mircosotf update.

December 12, 2:00pm I restart the computer to find no audio.

Narrowed the issue down to Windows Audio Services with an "Access Denied" error.

Had a call with tech support. They tried a variety of fixes, including uninstalling all audio devices and drivers and rolling back the computer to previous restorations. Nothing worked, and more programs broke in the process. Escalated my call to a supervisor, promising a callback at 4:00pm on December 13. Later that evening, I fix the issue with Windows Audio Services by changing the Log On behavior from "This account" to "Local System account."

As of right now, Windows Audio services is running, but no apps or even system sounds are displayed in the mixer. Running the troubleshooter detects driver errors, but the troubleshooter can't fix them, nor has reinstalling drivers from the automated service, my motherboard's original install disc, or from Realtek's own website. My installed speakers show up in the appropriate places, but I can't get them to do anything. All my drivers read as latest version. The devices are physically connected and functioning.

    I'm at my wit's end.

    :)
