    Hi there

Might seem obvious but also check that the default playback device is set to SPEAKERS -- the default often changes to HEADPHONE.

You need also in some cases to disable any extra enhancements in the properties (play back devices) as well as lowering the bit rate to 16 bit - also reduce to 96000 Hz. A restart might also be needed.

    Cheers

The problem has been solved and worked perfectly at 24-48000, 24-96000, 24-192000 so why do we have to lower to 16 bit ?
Are you using the generic driver from MS ?. If so, you might want to install the latest driver from the manufacturer. If the driver worked with 8.1 then it should work with10.

    Cheers !!!

  6. No; I could not get the 5.1 audio to work because when i go to test the speakers even after configuring it properly; I still only get the left front speaker playing audio. The rest of them(except the sub which does seem to work) do not play audio. Also; for some reason; the left front speaker is playing sound for all of the sattelite speakers instead of the correct ones. And its not the way my speakers are connected either as they worked perfectly the way they are connected now under windows 7.

  7. Top; also; is there a way to get entire soundblaster software suite to somehow work with 10? because when i try to run one of the several utilities for the sound card i get the error message stating that the audio device that this application supports could not be found or something to that extent. So I cant use any of the surround enhancements for this sound card it seems until microsoft or creative possibly come up with a fix for it so it will work. And i hope they do come up with a fix because i really dont want to have to run out and spend another $100-200 for a new card that will work with 10.

Try something silly but sometimes it works. Uninstall the device. Reboot and let windows re-install with drivers. Uninstall, not disable.

The reason I suggested to install just the driver because the Creative Audio Control Panel is not yet compatitble with Windows 10 where you can use it in earlier version 7/8/8.1 to control the Audio Mode.

This is Creative responsibility to come up with an update driver/tool, Not MS.

Since Windows 10 is still in the testing phase, the sound card manufacturers have to come up with drivers that are compatitble with Windows 10 so if you go out and buy another brand, you might have the same problem.

Sit back, relax and pretty soon, Creative should come up with updates for their products.

EDIT: I only have 2.1 Stereo speakers so I missed out the part that 5.1 did not work as expected.

    Hi there

problem with lowering the bit rate is that the latest VIA HD Audio driver wouldn't install and the solution I outlined was a temporary get around that a lot of people found worked.

If you can get the higher bit rates to work - great stuff -- I'm hoping as soon as the VIA HD driver gets fixed the problem will be solved. I have no problem on laptops or NON VIA HD audio systems !!!.

Note that your logic : If a driver worked with Windows 8.1 it *should* work with Windows 10 isn't always true -- and what about if you were updating / installing on a box previously running Windows 7 - so you won't have the W8.1 driver in any case.

    Cheers
