No boot screen after 2/12/21 update

Installed Windows Update when shutting down on 2/12/21.

Woke up on 2/13/21, hit power switch, was greeted by my optical drive indefinitely spinning up/down. No boot screen, no spinny-wheel, no BIOS. Already tried the following troubleshoots, with zero results:

    1 Replaced CMOS/motherboard battery

    2 Popped/re-inserted all 4 RAM sticks

3 Hard boot to System Recovery with 3 long power button presses

4 Screaming unrelated curse words artfully woven together in its general direction.

While #4 did provide some momentary mental relief, my technical situation remains the same - no output to monitor, inputs from keyboard or power button ineffective. Plz halp.

We continue our Monday news list with another Intel story that brings to our attention information concerning the company and more specificly its 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad Q9550 chips that will move from the current C-1 to the newer E-0 stepping. The updated chips will start selling on August 22nd, featuring the following changes:
    • New SSpec and MM numbers for the converting products
    • CPUID will change from 0x10677 to 0x1067A
    • Package change to Halide free package
Apart from that, the new stepping CPUs will not include any other changes. Of course, like most new stepping parts a BIOS update will be needed.

Asus Taichi 21 outer screen does not work

Mogyie, thanks for that. I gave my daughter a Taichi21 for Christmas and the Win8.1 update managed to trash it.

In Step 5 had to download BIOS 205 (TAICHI21A), 211 was rejected by WinFlash (downloaded in step 4).

I also had to download the Intel Graphics Driver from the VGA downloads. I had to run this after Step 9 to get the second screen to work.

You set me in the right direction, thanks.
