Windows 10: No desktop icons and saved files

I am using WIndows 11 operating system and upon turning on my computer today, all the saved photos and files on my desktop are gone. How do I restore them?

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

Since your desktop icons are not in the Recycle Bin, we suggest that you create a new shortcut for your preferred applications. Follow the steps below:

• Right-click on your desktop > New > Shortcut.
• Enter the path of the application you want to create an icon or select Browse... > click OK > Next > Finish.

Note: If the deleted icons on your desktops are not shortcuts, but are saved files, it may be possible to retrieve them if they are saved in OneDrive.

Unable to save Files on Desktop

Hi,

Few of my office desktops having issue with file save.

Both are connected to AD DS. whenever I save a file on desktop it will save properly but not showing the files on desktop.

Troubleshooting steps I have taken:

1. checked show hidden files in file explorer

2. show desktop icons

Please Help me on this
