Windows 10: No device detected or even sound when I plug a controller board for a drone

Hi,


I assemble and flight free style drone. In order to configure the flight controller the main board, I have to plug the board to the PC using an USB and use the a couple of program for this.


As of recently, I had to reinstall widows 10 as I upgraded the to a SSD. After the upgrade, I reinstalled the drive for the board and a virtual com port from STI, but after plugging in the board, Window doesn't do anything with it. No sound, no acknowledged, it doesn't shows it in device manager. Almost as if nothing got plugged in.


I have tried different ports and different versions USB 2 and 3, Also different cables.


This worked before the reinstall, is there anything I might be missing?

Windows 10 after upgade to 1709 if keyboard not plugged then ethernet device is not detected.

When I start my windows 10 (1709 build) without plugging keyboard and mouse, it does not detect Ethernet card.

Mother board is of Intel and Ethernet is on board (integrated).

I have also installed latest Ethernet driver by auto updated drivers from internet.

Steps:

Shutdown pc

Remove keyboard and mouse

Keep lan cable plugged

Start pc

Ethernet device is not detected. It shows in list in Device manager screen. but with Yellow triangle.

Then I need to plug keyboard and just do a hardware scan then Ethernet is detected and all ok after that.

When I start with keyboard and mouse plugged in then it detects Ethernet card and available on LAN.

Am I missing something?

Again thank you. Tried the drivers as found on the site. Very usefull site by the way!
First installed the 8186 driver by executing Install.exe and after the 8186 was installed (and did not solve the problem) upgraded to the 8603 pacckage. Althoug the sound device is listed in the overview on the site, no luck! And again the control board is showing weird things such as detecting front speakers that are not plugged in when switched off and reporting plugs are removed when front detection is switched on.

As soon as I have some more time, I will install either Linux or an old W7 x64 version on the machine in order to exclude hardware problems. It is a test computer anyway so no big big deal by reinstalling software of saving documents.

Computer Won't Auto Change the Playback Device When Headphones Plugged In/Out

Is the issue specific to only Headphones/ Does External Speaker play when plugged in?

I suggest you to try resetting the default device as shown in the steps given below and check if the issue persists.

  Plug in the Headphones in the machine.
  
• 
  Go to Start and Control Panel.
  
• 
  Select 'Hardware and Sound'.
  
• 
  Click 'Change system sounds'.
  
• 
  Click 'Playback' tab. (It should then show you your headphones in the list).
  
• 
  Select your proper Headphone device from the list, then Click 'Set Default'.
  
• 
  Now unplug your Headphones and select speakers from the list, then Click 'Set Default'.
